The Historic Harlem Parks Coalition (HHPC) is a coalition of volunteer advocacy groups representing Marcus Garvey, Morningside, St. Nicholas and Jackie Robinson Parks that organize community volunteers to get involved in park capital and beautification projects and to produce arts and cultural programming in their parks. Our goal is to play a vital role in promoting the renaissance of Harlem through events and activities and beautification in Harlem’s most significant public space, its four large parks.
In 2002, we launched our Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival, because we saw it as the best way to celebrate the African and African-American heritage that makes Harlem so unique and majestic, while appealing to all races and backgrounds on a broad level. What could be more enjoyable than sitting under the stars in our great parks with friends and family, watching a film?
This year marks the eigth annual Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival. We have an exciting program of film screenings complimented by music and dance selections performed as preludes to the films. We invite you to find out more about this year’s festival.
Thank you for visiting our site and we look forward to seeing you in our parks!
